GENERATION MANAGER
Te Aponga Uira (TAU) wishes to appoint a Generation Manager.

The role is responsible for the development and management of the operation and maintenance of TAU’s generation assets. In particular, the Generation Manager will lead the development and delivery of major works associated with alternative energy initiatives undertaken to support Cook Islands national renewable energy goals. The Generation Manager will ensure compliance with strategic and regulatory requirements and will collaborate fully with TAU’s other divisional teams through consultation, cross divisional engineering support, and mentoring. The role requires the management of generation projects from design to implementation, including project planning, budgeting and resource allocation.
The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer, and to the Board of Directors as required.
This is a hands-on position; the successful applicant will have excellent time management and problem solving skills and be prepared for hands-on monitoring of performance along with the ability to communicate at all levels with the different Divisions throughout TAU.
The successful applicant will need a NZ qualification (or similar) and extensive experience in electrical or energy engineering with a minimum of 8 years post qualification experience in a similar role, and an awareness of industry trends regarding alternative energy generation.

We have a rare opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our team.
As is expected, the role is responsible for TAU’s financial planning and analysis, financial reporting including preparation of annual financial statements and budgets and monthly management accounts, assisting with business plans and strategic planning, implementation and monitoring of systems, recommending changes in policies and procedures that will improve financial performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborating fully with TAU’s other divisional teams through consultation, cross divisional support and mentoring.
The position reports to the CEO, and the Board of Directors as required.
This is a hands-on position; the successful applicant will have excellent time management and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to train and develop a team, providing motivation and guidance, and hands-on monitoring of performance along with the ability to communicate at all levels with the different Divisions throughout TAU.
The successful applicant will be a certified Chartered Accountant (or similar) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position to lead the financial, strategic direction for TAU.
We envisage a start date of June/July 2024 to take ownership of the new financial year.
